WineParty-ing on TV
Julie and I were recently invited to appear on the Better Homes & Gardens TV show, Better.TV . Their hosts Juli Auclair and Audra Lowe wanted to show their viewers how to create a fun winetasting party using our WineParty .
We had a great time at their studio, and set up a winetasting featuring some delicious wines, generously offered to us by our friends at Charles Communications .
The hosts loved our starter wine…the pink bubbly Cuvee de la Pompadour from Domaine Carneros , created from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. It’s created by winemaker Eileen Crane, who has been making sparkling wine for 30 years in California. At a cost of about $35 it’s a great gift for the holidays.
The other wines we tasted include:
Climbing Chardonnay 2006, Australia. Made by winemaker Philip Shaw, named one of the top three winemakers in Australia according to Decanter Magazine. approx $15
Lynmar Russian River Valley Chardonnay, from the Russian River Valley region in Sonoma County, California. The vineyards are about 25% organic. This was a delicious, rich wine, created in a mix of Europen and American styles, so the buttery-ness of a traditional California chardonnay is tempered by acidity. approx $30
Climbing Shiraz, 2005 Australia. Also created by star Australian winemaker Philip Shaw, approx $15
Smoking Loon Syrah, California. A good, inexpensive standby for dinner parties. Approx $10.
