Beaujolais Nouveau !
Question: When is Beaujolais Nouveau released each year?
A ... May Day
B ... 3 weeks after harvest
C ... The 3rd Thursday in November
D ... September 1st
Answer: C … The 3rd Thursday in November
This wine is the first of the new harvest—quickly picked and barely fermented. Each year at one minute past midnight on the third Thursday of November, a race around the world begins to be the first to drink the wine. Beaujolais covers the majority of the southern part of the Burgundy region and represents more than half of the wines produced there. However, this area is quite different in soil type, climate and featured grapes compared to the rest of the region, which is primarily Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The main grape in Beaujolais is Gamay, and its wines tend to be refreshing and light, with a little acidity—meant to be enjoyed now, not stored and aged.

Oktoberfest
Beer
recipes and celebrations!
Question:
Oktoberfest originally started as a:
A …
Harvest festival
B … Baptismal celebration
C … Wedding party
D … Brewers’ holiday
Answer:
C … Wedding party
When Prince
Ludwig of Bavaria married Princess Theresa in 1810, the celebration
lasted 16 days and was so much fun it has been repeated ever
since. Most of Oktoberfest takes place in September, but it
varies from year to year so here’s a good way to calculate
when it will start: the original celebration lasted 16 days
and ended on the first Sunday in October, so just check when
that Sunday falls each year and count backward 16 days. (Source:
